A brief outline of me, my work and my love affair with Light

Since leaving the London College of Printing, where I studied photography, I have had the privilege of working in the world of stills, film and television as a photographer and director of photography for over four decades.
My work has enabled me to travel extensively, to experience many diverse locations and to observe the inner workings of cultural and natural systems. Above all, it has given me the opportunity to meet and work with some pretty wonderful people. Over the years, I have experienced working across a broad range of genres and with all formats, from 35mm film to solid state formats. Latterly, I have been exploring in more depth the concept of photography as a meditative practice - using the camera lens as tool for connection to our beautiful natural world.

I absolutely love this work and the people I get to collaborate with, perhaps more than anything because it enables me to work so closely with light, both natural and ʻdesigned’. Light, in all its manifestations, is at the very heart and structure of life and the universe we live in. Understanding how to work with it will always produce the most stunning images, no matter what the story.
